The history\, SP theory\, and architecture of this novelremote spectrum receiver will be covered and solutions demoed. Whatmakes this discussed spectrum monitoring solution unique is that theUser Interface is any (HTML5) standard web browser! The idea of a RF spectrum server on the internet technology wasinitially pioneered by the NSA  to remotely capture and analyzetransmissions of interest but this idea was prototyped at a fractionof the cost by DSP signals experts\, and amateur radio club members atthe University of Twente (The Netherlands)  and fellow communicationsstudents\, created WebDSP.org. This Linux-based application softwarewas distributed to international experimenters and amateur radioenthusiasts\, eager to see their transmitted signal power spectra ata distant location. .This was followed by a Hungarian engineeringstudent\, Andras.Retzler\, who rewrote code and released his open-sourced version known as OpenWebRX (earned both his BSEE SeniorProject and MSEE Thesis from this project).Take a sneak peak: https://www.receiverbook.de/map?type=&band=Joseph Jesson\, W2JEJ\, is currently CEO of RFSigint Group and has over35 years experience with Motorola\, British Petroleum\, Oak Technology\,and General Electric \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOther meeting topics:We will also review our club events in March: the Pi Day specialevent N3P on 3.14\, and the TCF Ham Cram followed by an ARRL VEC examsession sponsored by DSRC on Saturday\, March 18. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll are invited to join an informal pre-meeting dinner at Yummy Sushi \n\n\n\n600 Campus Town Drive #303\, Ewing Township\, NJ 08638 at 6:15 PM. \n\n\n\nThis restaurant serves sushi\, teriyaki\, and other classics\, plus \n\n\n\nPan-Asian favorites. SUMMARY:Monthly Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Bridge Builder in Petticoats: Emily Warren Roebling and the Brooklyn Bridge \n\nA presentation by Carol Simon Levin \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMany books and films have featured the Brooklyn Bridge and millions of people have crossed it. Built between 1869 and 1883\, without modern machines or even electric light\, it was one of the most amazing technological achievements of its time. Yet few people know that a woman helped manage much of its construction.   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAfter her husband was bedridden\, Emily Roebling became his liaison to the project – eventually communicating with the engineers and suppliers so well that it was rumored that she had become the Chief Engineer herself! Later she helped design the family mansion in Trenton\, studied law\, organized relief for returning troops from the Spanish American War\, attended the coronation of the Tsar of Russia and even took tea with Queen Victoria.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAt her death\, she was called “the most famous woman in New Jersey” and “one of the most noted women in the country\,” yet today almost no one knows her name! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClick here for Emily’s own Website! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCarol Simon Levin is a Youth Services Librarian at the Bridgewater Branch of the Somerset County Library. She is an experienced storyteller and a member of the New Jersey Storyteller’s Network \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n 0 \n\n \n \n \n 0
