SUMMARY:Pi Day 2026
DESCRIPTION:Contact N3P on Pi Day\, 2026 3.14.26(note: QST listed the wrong special event callsign- N2RE. We will use N3P on Pi Day)\n\n\nA.I. concept of Einstein as a ham\n\n\n\nThe 2026 running of Pi Day will be held from 2:00 PM EDT to 9:00 PM EDT on Saturday\, March 14th. Frequencies will be 14.031 (CW)\, 14.314 (USB)\, 7.031 (CW) and 7.227 (LSB). (22/7 is approximately Pi). Other bands and modes at the discretion of the operator. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMore information HERE \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Time for Princeton Pi Day Celebration 2026! The DSRC celebrates “3.14” March 14th with an on-the-air festival of contacts using our special event callsign — N3P\, celebrating the number Pi.Hope to talk to you then! \n\n\n\nPrinceton’s most famous resident\, Albert Einstein\, celebrated his birthday as March 14th (was it real? we don’t know); Princeton NJ still celebrates his memory. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur Princeton New Jersey based club has been honoring Pi Day for many years now. This year we scaled back our celebration to concentrate on our roots! Four stations around Princeton\, New Jersey\, USA will be sharing Pi Day wishes in honor of 3.14\, Pi day 2026 \n\n\n\nMarch 14 is important in the Princeton area because it was said that Albert Einstein was born on Pi Day\, and he lived in Princeton later in life. \n\n\n\nWe will be using CW and SSB\, two modes in existence during his lifetime. Listen for N3P near these HF frequencies: \n\n\n\n14.031 CW\, 14.314 USB \n\n\n\n7.031 CW\, 7.227 (Pi is approximately 22/7th) LSB \n\n\n\nWe may also be monitoring the David Sarnoff Radio Club repeater\, 146.46 (see LINK) for local contacts\, and maybe some other band/modes. Stop by and say “Happy Pi Day” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEarly in his life\, our club’s namesake David Sarnoff sent cw around the world\, could it be that he too contemplated Pi? (later in life\, David Sarnoff was president of RCA Corporation\, where our club started) \n\n\n\nCard shows David Sarnoff as radio operator around the time of the the Titanic Disaster\, and Albert Einstein during his days at the Institute for Advance Studies in Princeton\, NJ. Are they both contemplating Pi?\n\n\n\nN3P is listed in the ARRL Special Event database and on QRZ.com \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n 1 \n\n \n \n \n 0
