SUMMARY:Winter Field Day
DESCRIPTION:Our Club has been participating in one of the coolest events of the year… Winter Field Day\, where we go out into a park and set up stations\, operating on Saturday and Sunday with rules that are somewhat similar to ARRL Field Day\, but with a twist. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTHIS YEAR WE HAVE A REAL EMERGENCY… extreme cold\, and snow. So we will operate Winter Field Day at the American Red Cross offices in West Windsor\, where we hold our monthly meetings (see directions on this page:) https://n2re.org/about-us#directions \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Move to a safer location” –This is a last-minute change! For more details…. as we add them\, see: https://n2re.org/winter-field-day-2026 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWell\, it’s finally here! We plan to operate N2RE on Saturday only… Sunday will probably be a state of emergency. Listen for us on 2 (148.52 or 55) and 446.00 for a quick contact. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n 2 \n\n \n \n \n 0

SUMMARY:Pi Day 2025
DESCRIPTION:FOR THIS YEAR’S PI DAY visit https://n2re.org/pi-day-special-event \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nContact N3P on Pi Day\, 2025 3.14.25 \n\n\n\nIf Albert Einstein had been a ham… what would he have looked like?\n\n\n\nTime for Princeton Pi Day Celebration 2025! The DSRC celebrates “3.14” March 14th with an on-the-air festival of contacts with our special event callsign celebrating the number PI — N3P. Hope to talk to you then! Princeton’s most famous resident\, Albert Einstein\, celebrated his birthday as March 14th (was it real? we don’t know); Princeton NJ still celebrates his memory. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis year we scaled back our celebration to concentrate on our roots! Four stations around Princeton\, New Jersey\, USA will be sharing Pi Day wishes in honor of 3.14\, Pi day 2025. \n\n\n\nMarch 14 is important in the Princeton area because it was said that Albert Einstein’s birthday was on Pi Day\, and he lived in Princeton later in life. \n\n\n\nWe will be using CW and SSB\, two modes in existence during his lifetime. Listen for N3P near these HF frequencies: \n\n\n\n14.031 CW\, 14.314 USB \n\n\n\n7.031 CW\, 7.227 (Pi is approximately 22/7th) LSB \n\n\n\nWe may also be monitoring the David Sarnoff Radio Club repeater\, 146.46 (see LINK) for local contacts\, and maybe some other band/modes. \n\n\n\nEarly in his life\, our club’s namesake David Sarnoff sent cw around the world\, could it be that he too contemplated Pi? (later in life\, David Sarnoff was president of RCA Corporation\, where our club started) \n\n\n\nCard shows David Sarnoff as radio operator around the time of the the Titanic Disaster\, and Albert Einstein during his days at the Institute for Advance Studies in Princeton\, NJ. Are they both contemplating Pi?\n\n\n\nN3P is listed in the ARRL Special Event database and on QRZ.com \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n 2 \n\n \n \n \n 0

SUMMARY:Winter Field Day 25!
DESCRIPTION:Yes\, Winter Field Day– two days (but not overnight) of operating in “less than ideal” conditions! Get your rigs ready. Get your gloves ready! Beginners MORE THAN WELCOME. \n\n\n\nhttp://n2re.org/winter-field-day-resources has details of how to get there\, and the latest planning information. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis year’s 2025 rules (see tab on this page) emphasize modes and bands\, and emergency operations. We can’t use a generator at the site we selected\, we can’t operate overnight\, but we can put up tents\, antennas\, and learn lots about how to come together to communicate. \n\n\n\nLast year we were stymied by sunset… as we only had 3 hours on Saturday and maybe 4 on Sunday morning. This year the rules extend WFD to start at 11 AM EST\, so we can go on the air as soon as we have a station set up! Also\, on Sunday we can operate until 5 PM\, which allows us to get “6 Hours In A Row” as an objective. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHere’s a link to last year’s Wrap Up \n\n\n\nLocation is woodlot park\, South Brunswick (Kendall Park area) see LINK \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n 2 \n\n \n \n \n 0

SUMMARY:Experimenter's Cookout
DESCRIPTION:Charlie’s back yard…. various experiments\, bring something you want to work on\, or help out others working on their experiments. See group e-mail for details. The evening starts with cookout food/ pot luck food (if you want to bring something…) \n\n\n\nThe back yard has space to try putting up an antenna and seeing if it tunes (nanoVNA available) or what ever other experiments you want. \n\n\n\nWe may try a RTTY net at 7:30 on 40 Meters… check your e-mail as time approaches. You can transmit\, or listen with an SDR dongle (and FLDIGI software to decode) \n\n\n\nCheck e-mail for more. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n 2 \n\n \n \n \n 0
