What will our station look like? Here’s an example!

While we are still going to provide virtual meetings of the club (and weekly nets on 2 Meters), we have designated two Saturday in-person, outdoor events for April.

  • April 16 we will attempt to operate a “Parks on the Air” station.
  • April 23 we will gather at Van Nest Park in Grovers Mill, site of the Martian landing, for a bring-your-own lunch and gab session.

April 16 Parks On The Air (POTA)

Saturday morning 10 AM or so.. to 1 PM or so.. at a very obscure corner of the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park. This spot is a short walk from the Kingston canal house, but cars have to access it from Basin street.. (see map) You go to the far end, and DOWN to the canal.

Note: Fisherfolk also use the parking lot, please be respectful of space.

Portions “© OpenStreetMap contributors”. see https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright

Everyone is invited. Come watch, come help set up, come operate. We have some antennas and some radios, and some batteries, but if you bring something, we can try your equipment out too.
If you don’t know how POTA works, this the the PERFECT wasy to learn about it.

See you there? (club member see e-mail for poll)

April 19 Tuesday Club Meeting.

This will be virtual at our regular 7:30PM meeting time . Gerry N2GJ will explain Winlink for Beginners…

Stay tuned for the announcement on the e-mail reflector.

April 23 Saturday 11 AM “Martian Picnic”

Van Nest Park, West Windsor Township. https://www.westwindsornj.org/van-nest-park

Bring your own food, drinks, and chairs!

And (if you must!) bring your latest cool homebrew project… we’d love to see it!

The idea is a simple, outdoor event with no agenda so we can remind each other what we look like. Please be respectful of others wanting to keep social distance, and wear masks, etc.
Feel free to call on the repeater to find how to get to Grovers Mill (between Princeton Junction and Plainsboro)
